We are seeking a Director, Digital Strategy with a deep background in the retail, consumer goods & services, and/or travel & hospitality industries to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to partner with some of the world’s leading brands, driving digital innovation and transformation.
As the Director, Digital Strategy, you will lead a team of Bounteous x Accolite (BxA) consultants and digital practitioners in developing and executing strategies that create competitive advantages and deliver measurable business value for clients within the Consumer & Retail Business Unit (BU). You will also work closely with the Growth team to identify, scope, and win new business, contributing to the overall success and growth of BxA.
This role requires an effective leader who drives results and makes a meaningful impact; the ideal candidate is a strategic visionary as well as a pragmatic executor - capable of "thinking big" while remaining hands-on to ensure successful execution.
Role and Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted digital advisor and key strategic partner to BxA's Consumer & Retail BU clients
- Clarify and define complex or ambiguous business challenges, objectives, and goals
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to gather and analyze customer, market, and business insights, identifying key opportunities for innovation
- Lead teams in assessing clients’ digital capabilities and maturity to inform strategic decisions
- Design and facilitate collaborative workshops and stakeholder interviews with senior client executives (in-person and virtual)
- Guide teams in defining the business vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital innovation
- Conduct analysis and financial modeling to validate business viability and build a business case for change/innovation
- Develop and present insightful and actionable recommendations, strategic roadmaps, and comprehensive plans to client leadership
- Align with client management on recommendations, digital roadmaps, and next steps to ensure buy-in and execution
- Contribute to the growth of BxA by identifying new business opportunities, designing engagement approaches, scoping and estimating work, preparing winning proposals, and delivering compelling pitch presentations
- Advance the digital strategy consulting craft by developing consulting frameworks, methodologies, intellectual property, and thought leadership
- Inspire and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in management and digital consulting, or a blend of consulting and industry roles managing digital businesses
- Expertise in retail, consumer goods & services, and/or travel & hospitality industries
- Proven track record leveraging digital business models and technology to drive value
- Skilled in business and financial analysis
- Proficient in customer research methods, journey mapping, service blueprints, ecosystem mapping, and prototyping
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex, technical topics to a variety of audiences
- An outstanding executive presence; the ability to inspire, engage, partner with, and influence senior leadership
- Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills, with the confidence to lead and influence
- Self-driven; the ability to work independently, define a way forward, and solve problems with limited direction; proven capacity to drive results in an evolving and complex organization
- Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Digitally-savvy and well-informed on innovations, trends, and technologies
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus
