Job Summary:
The Director of Digital Development in London, UK, oversees key digital initiatives across the GTM lifecycle from pre-production to post-launch. Leading a team of front and back end developers plus project managers they develop specific plans to support GTM campaigns and oversee the operations and performance behind branded sites, the corporate website and the SQEX D2C eStore. They possess rich technical understanding and strong leadership skills, and elicit trust from stakeholders across the organization. Success in this role is largely measured by digital performance metrics on engagement as well as internal operational metrics to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Collaborating closely with various departments, they ensure digital excellence and alignment with business objectives.
Requirements
Key Deliverables:
- Create and lead a team of digital developers with a process-lead, performance focused approach
- Drive growth through ongoing test and learn initiatives to delivering tangible improvements in digital properties’ value to the business
- Represent Digital Development across the organization to integrate with partner functions e.g. marketing, comms, sales, intelligence, legal and finance
- Work closely with Digital Experience lead to drive progression towards personalized user experiences across our digital touchpoints
- Collaborate closely with Publishing Strategy to understand the value proposition of each game in development, translating the value proposition into digital features that are both feasible and inspirational
- Review briefs for initiatives related to branded websites, tactical website and the corporate site and the foundational platform of eStore, and chart the direction and success metrics for each project
- Oversee the development of Teaser Sites, working across Publishing West to ensure the site is delivering the unique qualities of the game
- Approve all branded site content and design, and provide oversight for pre-order, demo, and launch campaigns by managing eStore updates
- Manage incoming change requests post-deployment
- Maintain sound eStore operations and drive continuous improvement by leading the reviewing of and changes to any underlying digital platforms
- Manage/review Content Management System solutions to allow the Digital Development team to manage content requests
- Performance measures: engagement rates, traffic metrics such as bounce rate and time on site, store availability, speed, transaction time, cost efficiency, ability to deliver updates on time; more loosely, revenue growth, ROI, reach, conversion
Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, computer science, business administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Strong understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) principles and how to optimize websites for search engines
- Knowledge of analytics tools and ability to measure and interpret website and e-commerce platform performance data
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- A track record of increasing website traffic and conversion rates
- Experience with A/B testing and other marketing optimization techniques
- Experience driving data-lead personalized user experiences across digital touchpoints
- Extensive experience in digital development, e-commerce, or related roles
- Proven track record of successfully leading digital initiatives and driving measurable business results
- Deep understanding of digital marketing principles, e-commerce platforms, and website development, ensuring best practice for testing and continuous delivery
- The ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing software upgrades and refactoring work, with delivering new features
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization, as well as encouraging collaboration across the broader Digital Channels team
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute GTM plans aligned with business objectives
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in analyzing performance metrics and making data-driven decisions
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams, encouraging developer upskilling, acting as a mentor and contributing to a positive team culture
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and requirements
