The Corporate Strategy team sits at the center of Pinterest within the Strategy & Growth organization, helping to shape and communicate the company's multi-year growth strategy. We serve as the connective tissue between key product, engineering, sales, marketing and other cross-functional teams to accelerate Pinterest innovation and business growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join a company undergoing rapid transformation in a high-impact role, working on the most critical company-wide efforts. The Director of Corporate Strategy will stand up a new team from the ground up, carving out a new muscle for Pinterest that brings clarity and alignment around the existing strategy, shapes future strategic investments and identifies net new business growth opportunities for Pinterest.
What you’ll do:
- Develop strategic narratives that bring clarity to and drive alignment toward the company-level strategy, goals, and key priorities for both broad internal audiences and key external stakeholders
- Bring structure to company-wide complex problems through developing strategies that are rooted in clearly defined customer problems or business needs
- Lead content development for key forums (eg. quarterly Board of Directors meeting, Senior Leadership forums, annual planning, and other company-wide meetings) that connects Pinterest’s key focus areas to identified business outcomes
- Direct market intelligence efforts for Pinterest, being the eyes and ears in the external ecosystem to identify and synthesize key trends for senior leadership including competitive analysis, industry performance, and developing external KPIs / benchmarks
- Synthesize data driven insights (using internal and external data) into strategies that shape 1-3 year company-level priorities, vision and key investment areas
- Build and lead a small, but high-leverage Corporate Strategy team
What we’re looking for:
- Data driven and highly skilled in identifying and synthesizing game-changing insights
- Excellent (verbal, written, visual) communication skills, with proven ability to develop and present compelling narratives to broad audiences
- Strong business judgment, with an owners’ mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Experience in building trusted relationships and influencing senior stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization; including getting into the details to “become the expert” on an area of focus, then upleveling and clearly articulating the “so what” for others.
- Curious and knowledgeable about the ads, ecommerce, and broader technology industry
- Self-starter and excited about the prospect of building a team/function from the ground up
- Multiple years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Finance, or a comparable role in high-growth tech companies
- Proven ability with navigating a global organization structure and building strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
