To strengthen our corporate communications team and our Food and Beverage and Supply Chain communications offering, we are looking for an experienced and well-networked corporate communications professional, with at least 8 years of experience in Food and Beverage and Supply Chain communications, either in-house or agency-side. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the industry landscape, regulatory requirements, and frameworks, and has experience in translating complex Food and Beverage and Supply Chain policies into meaningful and compelling corporate positioning.

Role Profile

The director of corporate communications for Food and Beverage and Supply Chain leads the development and deployment of sector-specific strategies for Dutch and international clients. The media relations specialist helps clients strategize their industry narrative across all stakeholder groups to ensure alignment and build credibility. The role includes advising clients and teams on the appropriate tone of voice and positioning around their key focus areas and objectives, supported by proof points and company actions. This role is Amsterdam-based but is closely connected with a team of EMEA specialists in Food and Beverage and Supply Chain. The role requires close coordination with Edelman’s full range of capabilities, including creative, strategy, digital content, social media, and client teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead account teams in Corporate Reputation, advising PR/Communications Directors and C-level executives within the Food and Beverage and Supply Chain sectors
  • Design and manage reputation programs and multi-market campaigns focused on industry-specific challenges, including sustainability, transparency, and regulatory shifts
  • Identify growth opportunities within the Food and Beverage and Supply Chain sectors, expanding our client base and deepening relationships
  • Provide strategic PR and communications counsel, including digital, social, and content creation, to senior clients in these sectors
  • Oversee client programs and drive creative campaigns that resonate within Food and Beverage and Supply Chain industry narratives
  • Develop PR proposals and other strategic materials aimed at retaining and expanding client engagements
  • Lead new business pitches, including RFPs and formal presentations, to showcase our expertise in sector-specific reputation management
  • Manage a portfolio of Food and Beverage and Supply Chain accounts, guiding teams and fostering the professional growth of junior team members
  • Direct media engagement strategies that position clients as industry thought leaders in Food and Beverage and Supply Chain, coaching teams to deliver high-impact media coverage
  • Take full responsibility for financial planning and management, including budgeting, forecasting, and team hours allocation for client servicing
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive commercial objectives, contribute to Edelman’s IP development, and enhance our reputation in the Food and Beverage and Supply Chain markets through strategic initiatives like the Edelman Trust Barometer

The Ideal Candidate for This Role Will Have/Be:

  • Extensive background in corporate PR and reputation management, with a particular focus on the Food and Beverage or Supply Chain sectors
  • Knowledge of how Corporate Reputation intersects with Public Affairs, Financial Communications, and Consumer Insights within these sectors
  • Proven experience managing complex issues specific to Food and Beverage and Supply Chain, providing senior clients with confident, strategic counsel under pressure
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills with a focus on Food and Beverage and Supply Chain challenges, able to deliver projects on budget and show measurable results
  • Expertise in managing stakeholder relationships, especially with sector influencers and regulatory bodies
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with knowledge of international media landscapes and digital platforms relevant to these sectors
  • Experience coordinating multi-market strategies and collaborating across diverse teams and practices
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for innovation in Food and Beverage and Supply Chain PR
  • A strong network within the Food and Beverage or Supply Chain industries, able to leverage connections and develop new business opportunities
