The role:
The Director of Business Development for LATAM Banking Sales will drive the sales of banking solutions within the Latin American region. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the banking sector in LATAM, strong relationships with key stakeholders, and a proven track record of executing successful business development strategies. The Director will identify new business opportunities, build and maintain client relationships, and lead negotiations to secure profitable deals.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy for the LATAM region, focusing on expanding the company's footprint in the banking sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key banking clients and partners in the LATAM region. Act as the primary point of contact, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the banking sector, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and market entry initiatives.
- Drive sales efforts to meet or exceed revenue targets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop proposals, pitch to clients, and close deals.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and potential opportunities in the LATAM banking industry. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company. Work closely with legal and finance teams to finalize agreements.
- Mentor and lead a team of business development professionals. Foster a high-performance culture focused on results and client success.
- Ensure all business activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. Assess and mitigate risks associated with business development initiatives.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, with a focus on the banking sector in LATAM.
- Experience working in fintech or digital banking environments.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the banking industry in LATAM, including regulatory environments, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce, demonstrating a disciplined approach to tracking, managing, and reporting on opportunities within a qualified pipeline.
- Experience maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring seamless communication and strategic follow-through on sales and business development initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Fluency in English is required; Portuguese is a plus.
- Willingness to travel within the LATAM region.
