The Director, BSN Nursing Program is accountable to the Dean. The Director provides leadership and management in the daily operations and the future direction of the BSN Program. The Director assures excellence in the BSN nursing program based on university mission and strategic priorities, best practice in teaching and learning modalities, integration of faith and learning and standards for professional practice.

This is a full-time twelve-month nursing standing faculty position with delegated administrative release time. Faculty serving in this role also assume the role of standing nursing faculty related to teaching, scholarship, professional development and service to the school and profession. Academic rank is assigned dependent upon credentials and experience.

We are looking for candidates who have: 

1. A doctorate degree in nursing or related field with a master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college/university.
2. An active unencumbered Colorado or multi -state Registered Nurse license. 
3. Two (2) years full time or equivalent clinical experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
4. Three (3) to Five (5) years of full-time teaching experience teaching in a baccalaureate and higher degree nationally accredited nursing program.    
5. Two (2) to Three (3) years of full-time experience in a previous academic nursing administrative position is preferred. 
6. Documented evidence of competency in teaching, curriculum development, program evaluation, scholarship and service to the profession.
7. Demonstrates effective organizational, problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills.
8. Experience using digital education platforms and implementing online instructional strategies.
9. Position requires high energy, innovation, persistence, dedication to students and commitment to nursing education as ministry.
10. Articulate, energetic and enthusiastic regarding CCU School of Nursing and Health Professions and their personal calling to CCU by the Lord.   
11. A desire to be servant-minded and a hard-working individual who understands Christian worldviews and can integrate faith and learning with a passion for Christian education. 
12. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, online education, and Brightspace or a similar learning management system.

Key Job Duties

1. Provide leadership, management and oversight for the BSN Nursing Program to assure quality of the academic program curriculum, student assessment, policy, resources, services and daily operations. 
2.  Lead and collaborate with staff and Assistant Directors to implement and administer the daily operations and policies for the BSN program including semester planning, course schedules, faculty/student communication, ATI and NCLEX trends.  
3.  Collaborate with the Dean in establishing faculty teaching assignments.  Interview, mentor and evaluate all affiliate faculty who serve in roles of Clinical/Simulation faculty, teaching Assistants, and ANIPS.
4.  Serve as a resource for new faculty assigned to teach in the undergraduate program.
5.  Participate in the development, review, and revision of all official university publications, documents and reports related to the BSN program.
6. Contribute information, oversight and feedback for the preparation of BSN budget expenditures, fees, and resource needs.
7.  Collaborate with Enrollment (CAGS) and Admissions (CUS) teams with recruitment of BSN students and provide annual training for these departments.
8.  Interact positively and effectively with all faculty and students, understand all BSN courses, and stay current with all faculty and student concerns, including learning contracts and progression plans. 
9.  Promote and support professional development and scholarship for faculty colleagues
10.  Teach 3-6 credits in the BSN program annually. 
11.  Oversee undergraduate admissions, progression, and retention including student learning contracts and revised progression plans.
12.  Coordinate and lead student events including orientations, student meetings, and ongoing student communication. 
13.  Oversee and serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate students 
14.  Respond to student issues in CAGS and CUS as needed.
15.  Serve as a Christian nurse leader role model for students.
16.  Engage in other duties as assigned.

 Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Tasks may involve extended periods of time in the Simulation Center or at a keyboard or workstation. Administrative tasks require time commitment to the BSN Program which may involve extended hours in the workweek.
