- The Dimensional Engineer is responsible for leading dimensional improvements in vehicle geometry, specifically focusing on Closures through part, tooling, or design actions.
- Analyze complex Closures and associated components using various measurement systems such as Meisterbock, quality assurance fixtures, laser trackers, CMMs, and In-Line Vision Stations.
- Perform data analysis, organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and potential root causes in Closures.
- Collaborate with production personnel and plant quality engineers to implement and validate proposed solutions for Closures.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions for Closures through comprehensive data analysis.
- Proactively monitor trend charts and engage with cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics related to Closures.
- Interact with suppliers, both internal and external, to communicate issues and drive resolution specific to Closures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 4 years of engineering experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge in basic statistics and process control is required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient understanding of GD&T and the use of gauges and fixtures, particularly with relevance to Closures.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications.
