As part of this effort, UpTrending is recruiting for a Digital Marketing Strategist, to help drive success for our clients, both VC-backed start-ups and B2B tech companies.
Leading the charge on the execution of digital marketing strategies, the Digital Marketing Strategist will be advising clients on the optimal mix of tools, campaigns and channels to create their best digital marketing strategy.
If you drive strategies by analysis of the numbers, then this could be the role for you. You’ll lead the charge in working with customers to ensure that their digital marketing strategy helps lead to successful business metrics like traffic, leads and ultimately sales. You will advise them on which online events influence a lead to become a customer.
Responsibilities
- Behavioral insights
- Analyze campaign results, reporting, audience attribution, etc.
- Provide insights and strategy to clients
- Identify and implement best practices to track metrics across all initiatives.
- Optimize clients' online marketing efforts, and conduct research and modeling that drives strategy and business decisions.
- Content marketing
- Creating content marketing strategy that will drive quality leads and opportunities
- Building content as needed, including blog posts, social posts, landing page copy, email campaigns, optimized for SEO and brand engagement
- Campaign management
- Adjust and advise on paid campaigns, PPC strategies, SEO, SEM
- Provide support for campaigns, tracking and analysis across multiple platforms
- Website and content engagement strategy
- Work with the development team to help advise clients on the best path to effortless lead generation and landing pages to help drive SEO and brand engagement
- A/B testing
- Test messaging, calls to action, etc. and make actionable plans for improved results
- Marketing tool integration
- Advise on how to best leverage the clients’ marketing stack, including marketing automation and campaign platforms to collect leads effortlessly. Integrate lead capture, email signup forms, and more.
Key Attributes for Success
- Well-rounded in all things digital – content marketing, social media, SEO, SEM, marketing automation, programmatic, performance optimization, data management, AI/machine learning, web design and development
- Ability to both design and report on key metrics, analyzing data from various sources and tools, and proactively providing insights to team members.
- Capability to review existing research and historical performance to create guidelines to ensure digital marketing efforts are effective and aligned with clients' business objectives.
- Comfortable advising clients on digital marketing strategy, including what works, what’s new and what’s next
- Keeping up with the ever-evolving digital marketing technologies to bring fresh ideas that will reach targeted audiences
- Establishing and monitoring metrics to track performance of digital campaigns, website traffic, social ads, lead generation, etc.
- Demonstrated excellence in building and executing digital strategies
- Strong understanding of Google Analytics and other digital data metric tools
- Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills
Required Experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience within digital marketing
- Experience working directly with clients
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and strong copywriting skills
- Experience with campaign management
- Proficient at using various analytical tools (i.e. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, SEMRush etc.)
- Experience marketing in the B2B space (startups and/or tech preferred)
- Experience with marketing automation and Content Management Systems (i.e. WordPress, Drupal etc.)
- Experience working with creative and/or technical development of web based solutions, technology and emerging media
- horough understanding of web/social media marketing analytics, measurement, testing and experimentation, and data mining.
- Knowledge of inbound marketing methodologies and marketing automation software (Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot, etc.)
- Analytics and metrics knowledge of pay-per-click (PPC), email marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
