Job Summary of the Digital Marketing Operations Manager

The Digital Marketing Operations Manager is a vital member of the Axogen marketing team, playing a key role in advancing the company’s digital strategy. This person will thrive on the challenge of building and aligning marketing technology platforms that work in synergy to provide dynamic and engaging digital customer experiences. This role requires someone passionate about user experience, analytics, and building digital marketing processes that drive measurable business results.  

As the go-to expert for Axogen’s digital marketing technology stack, the Digital Marketing Operations Manager will collaborate closely with marketing, creative, IT, and business analytics teams. They will lead and contribute to cross-functional projects, overseeing the operational aspects of digital marketing platforms, including websites, CMS, marketing technology stacks, and social platforms. This role requires leadership in managing digital marketing projects, coordinating relationships with agencies and vendors to ensure exceptional digital experiences that align with the brand, and providing accurate, insightful campaign analysis to inform strategic decision-making across the organization.

Requirements of the Digital Marketing Operations Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with preference for Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, Information Technology or similar concentration
  • Minimum 5-7 years of digital marketing experience, pharma or medical device experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced experience in marketing automation systems ((e.g. HubSpot, Marketo, or similar) and experience integrating those systems with other technologies
  • Experience launching, managing, optimizing websites, email, marketing and social platforms
  • Strong background in database management
  • Established working knowledge of key digital concepts to include:
    • SEO keyword research, keyword targeting, link building
    • Paid Social, PPC, Display, Retargeting
    • SEM experience managing google Ads and Bing Platforms
    • ADA website compliance
  • Providing reports with actionable insights
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and WordPress (template-based program can be learned on the job), and familiarity with LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for business purposes
  • Strong interpersonal skills to gain consensus across planned programs, negotiate tight deadlines, and align cross-functional teams
  • Passion for working in medical technology field that impacts patients’ lives
  • Genuine interest in digital marketing trends and applications
  • Job requires significant time at computer; limited travel requirements

Responsibilities of the Digital Marketing Operations Manager

The specific duties of the Digital Marketing Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Taking ownership of existing marketing platforms to ensure efficient delivery of campaigns, improving workflows, and ensuring proper integration with our CRM systems
  • Collaborating with cross-functional internal teams of creative, content, brand, IT, and business analytics in addition to external partners such as digital and media agencies.
  • Supporting the execution of digital marketing campaigns across multiple market development areas, playing a key role in implementing best practices (i.e. email marketing, lead capture, lead scoring, nurturing, and analytics reporting) partnering with the Business Intelligence team to demonstrate positive ROI.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues with campaigns or marketing automation platforms and propose solutions.
  • Owning the execution of email marketing, including daily usage of an automation platform such as HubSpot
  • Developing and maintaining a system to track and segment customers for targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Building and updating web/microsites, including providing input into their development with a focus on user experience.
  • Working closely with IT and business analytics to develop more efficient use and integration of marketing technologies. Maintain the process and documentation of procedures for marketing technology usage.
  • Regularly monitor campaign and digital channel analytics, pull data for business review meetings and marketing planning sessions, and prepare regular and ad hoc reports and analytics.
  • Partnering with digital media agencies to set up trackers for goals and KPIs (e.g. capture, engagement, conversion, sign-ups, open rates, site traffic, etc.)
  • Working to establish closed-loop analytics with business analytics and sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity converts into customers and continually refine our conversion process.
  • Lead marketing technology projects, evaluate new technologies, and assist with technology implementation to strengthen our digital ecosystem

This position is eligible for an annual bonus. Salary Range
$89,604$112,006 USD
