DevOps/Python Intern for CloudImages Team (remote only opportunity)

CloudImages is a remote-first team that values collaboration, growth, and simplicity in our solutions. We build straightforward, effective systems to support a wide array of virtual machine images in the cloud, ensuring they’re reliable, up-to-date, and efficient for our users.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation, management, and troubleshooting of virtual machine images in our cloud system.
  • Assist in developing a new, streamlined image-building system using Python.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot weekly maintenance tasks, ensuring all virtual machines are operational and addressing any system issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain 240+ images across multiple cloud environments, handling both routine support tasks and new product development initiatives.
  • Participate in tasks involving Ansible, Terraform, and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, or OpenNebula, with guidance from team members.

Requirements

  • Basic experience in Python programming and Linux system administration.
  • Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, or OpenNebula) is preferred.
  • Passion for exploring infrastructure and building solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • A GitHub portfolio showcasing pet projects in Python is highly desirable for evaluating coding skills.
  • Fluency in English and Russian is a must
