BlueOptima is seeking a skilled and passionate Dev Ops Manager to join our dynamic Platform team. You will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure using AWS, while contributing to the overall platform development with your programming expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the DevOps vision and strategy, including roadmap development, technology evaluation, and budget management, to achieve business goals.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing DevOps team, including performance reviews and recruitment.
- Design and implement scalable and secure DevOps solutions, including the implementation of new technologies and tools.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Continuously improve DevOps processes, driving efficiency and agility across the software development lifecycle
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks. Evaluate and select appropriate DevOps tools
- Foster strong relationships and collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, effectively communicating DevOps initiatives, progress, and challenges.
- Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning, and lead change management efforts related to DevOps adoption.
- Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the underlying infrastructure. Establish comprehensive monitoring and observability practices.
- Lead and coordinate incident response efforts, minimizing downtime. Conduct thorough post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

The Platform team at BlueOptima plays a crucial role in providing a scalable technology platform for product development, adhering to our core principles of Self Service and Containerization. We collaborate with engineering teams to:

Self Service:
- Empower developers with self-service tools and automation to provision and manage their own infrastructure resources, promoting agility and faster development cycles.

Containerization:
- Focus on containerizing application stacks to ensure consistency across development, CI/CD, and production environments. This approach enables portability, scalability, and faster deployments.
- BAU Management: Ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation and maintenance of our DevOps infrastructure.
- Critical Infrastructure Management: Maintaining the availability, performance, and security of crucial tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.
- AWS Security: Implementing and managing robust security measures within our AWS cloud environment.
- Hosting Cost Optimization: Monitoring and optimizing cloud hosting costs to ensure efficiency.
- Alerting and Monitoring: Establishing and maintaining effective alerting and monitoring systems to proactively detect and resolve issues.
What You Need to Succeed at BlueOptima:
- 8+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical skills and a desire to remain hands-on paired with leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of core AWS services and best practices.
- Experience with specific programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, etc.)
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and CI/CD solution (Jenkins)
- Hand-on experience in designing, configuring and maintaining monitoring and observability infrastructure
- Experience with cloud security and compliance
Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
