The Tribe Voice & Messaging is responsible for the design, development, planning, validation and operation of all voice and messaging platforms in DT Technik's fixed and mobile networks over their entire lifecycle. We provide innovative, reliable state-of-the-art services to our cellular- and landline-based customers.

The TAS-GK platform is made up of 2 parts – TAS-GK/SIP-Trunk 1.0 & TAS-GK WS (Wholesale, C.SIP.G) – and provides a voice platform for business customers offering SIP-Trunking Services. Currently more than 200,000 business customers are hosted from all business segments (S/M/L/XL).

The Squad TAS-GK (Telephony Application Server - Geschäftskunden) is looking for a DevOps Engineer specializing in setting up and maintaining the necessary network infrastructure for the VM environment.

Job Description, Tasks & Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer you develop advanced technical solutions for the expansion and operations of the infrastructure / services and help raise these to the next quality level.

  • You support our project teams during the development, validation, and planning as well as faster implementation of product releases.
  • Creating automations that assist deploying network infrastructure solutions for applications in all system environments
  • Create and maintain continuous delivery pipeline, automated builds and build verification tests
  • You prepare and administrate the project specific infrastructure and tool suites for integration and delivery
  • Run integration scripts manually where automation does not yet exists

Professional, Social and Specific Skills

You are also characterized by the following knowledge and skills:

  • Very good working knowledge of the IPv4 / IPv6 networking protocols / environments including the associated layers and protocols as well as security / access tools (firewalls)  
  • Good working knowledge of network design, especially of service area networks and with regard to network security aspects (zone segregation, VLAN creation, IP security mechanisms etc.)
  • Experience with: Fortinet Firewall, Juniper, VRF, IPSec, OSPF, BGP and VPN
  • Experienced with the development and implementation of complex network monitoring solutions in the areas of: event- and performance-monitoring as well as the collection and processing of the appropriate metrics. (Grafana, Elasticsearch, Zabbix, SNMP, restful-API’s and evaluating the necessary syslog information)
  • You conduct error analysis and troubleshooting as well as deep analysis of performance gaps
  • Sound knowledge of IT-systems and -concepts, including monitoring and automation thereof (Git & Ansible)
  • Very experienced in working with Linux & VMware

Ideally you are also:

  • Highly motivated with experience setting up network infrastructures
  • Ready to learn, especially in the area of cloud technologies
  • Actively participate in increment planning, backlog refinement, define backlog items and user stories
  • You ensure open and transparent communication
  • A team player and willing to work in an agile team environment
  • Can work independently as well as in a team
  • Openness for participation on on-call duties
  • Have some German language skills (though not mandatory)
