DevOps Engineer
Praxis Engineering has an immediate need for a DevOps Engineer to support Unified Engagement Environment. Efforts will focus on DevOps engineering of an expanding collaboration workflow platform that combines COTS, open-source, and custom microservices. What you will be doing:
Responsibilities will include deploying applications; installing and configuring complex software; managing servers, networks, and technology tools; monitoring and maintaining the system for required levels of security and performance; and troubleshooting issues and outages.
Candidates will be required to work a rotating pager schedule for emergency 24/7 call-in support as required (roughly one week out of every 6-8 weeks). Staff may charge 4 additional hours for the week they are on call in addition to hours worked.
What you will need:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree;
· A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in DevOps engineering
· Technical skills include experience with:
o Linux
o AWS, MASH, and VMs
o Relational Databases (Amazon RDS, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL)
o Networking, Firewalls, and Load Balancers
o Terraform scripting and VM provisioning
o Deployments of distributed web applications
o Docker, Docker Compose container technology
o Docker Swarm
o Public Key Infrastructure
Desired technical skills include experience with:
· eVo, CoDE, and UWE environments
· API Gateways
· Elasticsearch / Logstash / Kibana (ELK) maintenance and configuration
· Python scripting and development
· Java / Spring Boot troubleshooting (error logs)
· Kafka Message Broker
· Hazelcast Memory Cache
· Kubernetes
· Zookeeper
· Nginx Web Server
· Ansible scripting
· Monitoring and Alerting
· Agile software development practices
· Jira and Confluence
Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with an appropriate polygraph is required to be considered for this role.
Salary range:
$121,739.00 - $247,262.00 (Annually)*
