The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
As a DevOps Engineer you will be assessing current systems and processes, and developing ways to improve them. In this role, there will be a big focus on automation. We are looking for someone who has built from 0, not managing simply from what other's have built. This role would also have kubernetes deployment involved in the day to day. We are looking for engineers with CI/CD building experience.
Over time, we expect this role will be pulled into internal app development, so experience integrating applications together via API is a major bonus in any candidate that applies.
Responsibilities
-building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
-understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
-working with developers and other IT colleagues to oversee code releases
-writing specification documents
-testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
--identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Ability to handle a rapidly changing set of requirements and schedules.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary.
Willingness to learn new skills and grow into greater responsibility.
