Role overview

As the sole dev ops engineer at Blackbullion, you will have a significant impact on shaping our infrastructure and development processes. You will be responsible for building and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and automating workflows to ensure seamless software delivery. Given our small team, you’ll be wearing multiple hats to ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud Management and Monitoring: maintaining our existing AWS-based infrastructure
  • System Monitoring and Incident Response: ensuring observability across all of Blackbullion’s products and swiftly addressing issues
  • Security and Compliance: building security into every component of our infrastructure and ensuring compliance with security standards across our stack
  • Performance Optimisation: identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks in products and infrastructure
  • Cost Optimisation: monitoring infrastructure costs and making sensible decisions when it comes to balancing performance and price

Other responsibilities

  • Keeping up to date with industry trends, tools and best practices
  • Regularly testing our backup and recovery processes
  • Identifying key areas for automation and working with the development team to introduce tooling where necessary

Requirements

We’re looking for a devops engineer with at least 4 years of experience building, scaling and maintaining cloud infrastructure. We’re also looking for someone with engineering experience with a language like Python or Typescript.

Product team experience is also a bonus.
