Position: DevOps Deployment Automation Engineer
Location: San Jose, Hybrid
Job Type: Full Time


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement unified deployment automation utilities and scripts for ExtremeCloud services in Public, Private, and Edge Cloud.
  • Automate infrastructure service provisioning in AWS, Google, and Azure as code.
  • Champion DevOps best practices, streamline CI/CD workflows, and improve deployment efficiency.
  • Create and maintain effective and efficient CI and CD pipelines to deliver applications and services.
  • Collaborate with applications team to integrate deployment automation into their own CI/CD environments, as well as feature-level sanity verification integration.
  • Participate in cloud security and compliance implementation.
  • Implement and advocate for security best practices and integrate security scans into the CI/CD workflow.
  • Automate monitoring and logging configuration as part of the deployment automation process.
  • Maintain up-to-date DevOps best practices, processes, and standard procedures.
  • Work with CI and CD tools, and source control such as GIT, Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory, Perforce, SVN.

Qualifications:

  • BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a CloudOps / DevOps role.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or any public cloud (Azure, GCP etc).
  • Knowledge of Linux, security, and networking fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Working knowledge of deployment automation development (Argo Workflows, Terraform, Helm, Ansible).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Kibana, Prometheus).
  • Experience with cloud security and compliance implementation is a plus.
  • Strong follow-through and initiative to stay with issues until they are resolved.
  • Comfortable working within a distributed team located in multiple time zones.
  • Strong programming skills with good knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Working knowledge on any of these systems is a plus – JIRA, Confluence, qTest, Coverity, Black Duck.
