ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
 

World Relief Spokane seeks to hire a highly motivated, energetic, positive individual to engage people in the mission of World Relief. The Development Mgr is an outward facing position that collaborates with a team of highly motivated people and focuses on fundraising, education, raising awareness, and inspiring support of World Relief's mission to "boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church"

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead fundraising efforts to support World Relief Spokane;
  • Plan and execute fundraising events;
  • Steward donor and funder relationships;
  • Oversee external communications;
  • Collaborate with marketing dept for lead generation;
  • Engage churches, individuals, and communities in World Relief's mission
  • This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees, including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values, including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Undergraduate degree or combination of related education and experience
  • 3 years of related professional work, at least one year in the nonprofit sector
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (HubSpot, Mailchimp) for donor engagement
  • Experience with social media tools (Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn) for campaign management
  • Experience with CRM software (Raiser’s Edge NXT, MS Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot, others)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for communication and reporting
  • Excellent writing skills to craft compelling, audience-driven messages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability work work in a fast paced, flexible environment
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to meetings or events, Valid drivers license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum BA in marketing or related field; Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment; Bilingual

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; The ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-15 pounds; Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information; The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
