Overview:
Tawuniya, a leading insurance company, is seeking a skilled Development Manager with a strong background in Oracle technologies and reporting. The successful candidate will manage and oversee the development of IT solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the delivery of high-quality results. This role demands excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of Oracle technologies and reporting tools.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders, to gather requirements and define project goals.
- Technical Expertise:
- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle-based applications and systems, ensuring they meet company requirements and industry standards.
- Utilize reporting tools to generate accurate and timely reports, providing valuable insights for business decision-making.
- Ensure seamless integration of Oracle applications with other systems and technologies.
- Project Management:
- Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in all development activities.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain rigorous testing procedures to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of developed applications.
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Oversee the resolution of technical issues and bugs, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting systems to track project metrics, performance indicators, and other key data.
- Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Analyze data to generate insights that support continuous improvement and strategic planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong expertise in Oracle technologies, including Oracle Database, Oracle Applications, and PL/SQL.
- Proven experience with reporting tools such as Oracle Reports, BI Publisher, and other relevant technologies.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Excellent project management skills with a successful track record of delivering complex development projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with strategic and analytical thinking abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
