Required Role Summary:

  • Project Planning: Dev will actively participate in the project planning phase, working closely with stakeholders to define project objectives, outline deliverables, and establish realistic timelines. He/she needs to ensure that resources are allocated appropriately and that project goals align with the organization’s overall strategies.
    • Understand project requirements.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives.
    • Create comprehensive project plans, including timelines and resource allocation.
  • Team Management: A vital aspect of a dev manager's role is effectively managing the development team, fostering a collaborative environment, and optimizing team performance. hence team management is a must have skill in this domain.
    • Train and mentor team members to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their expertise and strengths.
    • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations to optimize team productivity.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Dev manager must anticipate potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. He/She must work to minimize disruptions and ensure project progress remains on track.
    • Identify and analyze potential risks and obstacles that may impact project success.
    • Develop contingency plans to address and mitigate identified risks.

  • Should have handled a dev team of at least 15 team members or more.
  • Strong Leadership: Dev manager must possess exceptional leadership qualities to motivate and guide their teams towards success. He/She should inspire trust, encourage innovation, and promote a positive work culture.
  • Excellent Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are vital for a dev manager. He/She must be able to convey complex ideas, provide clear instructions, and facilitate smooth collaboration.
  • Project Management: A solid understanding of methodologies and techniques is crucial. Dev manager should be proficient in planning, organizing, and executing projects while ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
