Developer Support Engineer

Vancouver, Canada
Full-Time

Octopus Deploy sets the standard for Continuous Delivery, empowering software teams to deliver value in an agile way. Over 4,000 organizations globally –  including Ubisoft, ASOS, Xero, monday.com, Stack Overflow, NASA, and Disney – rely on our Continuous Delivery, GitOps, and release orchestration solutions.

Founded in Australia in 2012, our team of over 270 Octonauts now spans the globe. We combine high growth and big ambitions with a sustainable, balanced working environment. Our revenue has grown consistently between 30–50% every year for the past 8 years, and we’ve been profitable for 10 out of the past 11 years. Octopus now provides the industry's most comprehensive Continuous Delivery solution for organizations operating at scale.

We’ve been remote-first since 2015 and work with an uncommon level of transparency. You can read our public handbook to learn how we work. We have a transparent approach to compensation that ensures people doing the same work with the same skill get paid the same, with well-defined career pathways. We foster a supportive, collaborative, and high-trust environment. We leave our job titles at the door and focus on doing what’s best for our customers and team. Our leaders never shy away from answering the tough questions at our all-hands calls or in 1:1s. We conduct interviews and onboarding virtually as part of being a remote-first company.

In 2024, Octopus Deploy acquired and merged with Argo maintainers Codefresh, the leaders in enterprise GitOps, in order to continue to revolutionize modern software delivery.
We are seeking a new team member to join our Codefresh team as a Developer Support Engineer. You will work closely with customers to implement and debug CI and CD (Argo-based) solutions using the Codefresh platform. You will have a wide variety of issues presented to you each day, of which a high percentage will require a reasonable knowledge of Kubernetes and Argo.

To help our teams work together effectively, this remote position requires you to be located within or close to a US time zone.

Compensation for this role is currently aligned with Codefresh’s existing compensation scale, and influenced by the above ideal background and experience. The range for this role is $110,000 -$130,000 USD + stock options.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with customers to resolve issues in their CI, CD, Kubernetes, Argo, and other integrated systems.
  • Debugging at a distance via email and Slack.
  • Provide best practices in the CI and CD (Argo) area, including documentation.
  • Kindly teach and enable customers to use Codefresh’s tools to enhance their processes.
  • Participate in creating a wealth of knowledge in the community.
  • Track issues in multiple tickets while meeting SLA requirements.
  • Work with RnD to ensure feedback loops for bugs and enhancements are complete.
  • Be proactive in identifying issues in processes and taking appropriate action.
  • Be a confident communicator, great listener, and outstanding collaborator.

Your Background:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in supporting production systems.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and able to pick up new technologies easily.
  • Have a “Customer First” mindset.
  • Strong English speaking and writing proficiency.
  • Calm, confident, and reassuring presence in both written and live (e.g., zoom) communication.
  • Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and Argo.
  • Experience working with Cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Comfortable and experienced working with Git and cloud-based SCM systems (GitHub, Bitbucket, Gitlab, etc.).
  • Experience with building and deploying container-based applications.
  • Understanding CI and CD methodologies for application development.
  • Deep understanding of web-based applications and API architecture.
