Developer Support Engineer

Are you passionate about empowering developers to build Augmented Reality experiences using 8th Wall’s Web based platform?

The 8th Wall team at Niantic is seeking a Developer Support Engineer to provide top-notch technical support to developers using our platform. We’re looking for a capable, motivated, and flexible individual who is highly collaborative and deeply committed to developer success.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex support issues which may involve reviewing source code, debugging live services, and cloud deployment configurations.
  • Take ownership of developer questions and issues, including initial triage, identification of root cause, and issue resolution.
  • Identify bugs and improvements to our platform.
  • Create enablement resources such as tutorials, sample projects, and documentation updates to address frequent developer inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering and Sales, acting as the “Voice of the Customer” by providing feedback on common or emerging issues.
  • Improve internal tools, automating frequent customer-support related tasks, making the entire team more efficient by reducing manual work.
  • Required in-office 5 days a week Monday - Friday in our Palo Alto office.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) using libraries such as React.
  • Familiarity with 3D web frameworks such as A-Frame, Three.js, Babylon.js, or PlayCanvas.
  • Previous experience in a technical support role.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, including AWS.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

Plus If...

  • Experience working with developer tools in a similar space.
  • A portfolio of projects or contributions to open-source that demonstrate a deep understanding of Augmented Reality concepts and the ability to implement them.

The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $122,400 - $158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
