Designer (Junior - Intermediate)

Our (agency) client, is an independent branding firm creating meaningful connections through culture, conversation & design and they are looking for a new Designer to join their team. In this role, you will bring design leadership and “best in class”  creative thinking and design to ensure the team delivers innovative, effective and efficient  brand communication solutions that drive a return on investment for our clients.  You will report to and be mentored by our Creative Director, as well you will work collaboratively with all our internal team and clients. Responsibilities:
  • Develop creative solutions on specific projects, and implement design of pre established directions.
  • Execute design concepts to a level of quality that meets or exceeds our standard of  excellence with strong attention to detail. 
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget. 
  • Present and review your creative to internal teams including Creative Directors and  Account Directions and all levels of Management.  
  • Provide Strategic Consultation: properly interpret client briefs/objectives in order to develop design strategies.
  • Review information from clients, account manager, suppliers etc., to determine project goals.
  • Assist in the development of potential strategic scenarios for concept development.
  • Help assess existing and potential strategies and executions.
  • Conduct research, store audits etc as required.
  • Look for opportunities to support our company’s competitive advantage. 
  • Assist in maintaining and promoting systems and protocols to optimize the efficiency  of the studio.
  • Exercise time management skills to ensure smooth flow of business.
  • Archive completed design for a more useful, cleaner server. 
  • Create a positive, lasting impression for our people and our clients.

  • Qualifications:
  • Graduate from Graphic Arts Program .
  • 2-4 years of experience with the ability to design any or all of the following – Corporate  and brand Identity, package concepts, POS (signage, shelf materials, free standing,  flexible, permanent, FSI’s, etc.), structural design etc. 
  • Advanced knowledge working Adobe Suite of products - Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign etc. 
  • Advanced knowledge working Microsoft Suite of products – Word, Keynote, email etc.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a virtual design environment.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to assess and develop strategies. 
  • Works well under client pressure. 
  • Ability to multi-task and switch gears as required due to scheduling deadlines.
