About the Opportunity

 
The Design Operations (Design Ops) team is responsible for a mix of managing the design team’s business operations, ensures design excellence, and helps shape and drive the design team’s culture, craft, and priorities.
As the Design Operations Lead, you will be the driving force behind the efficiency, collaboration, quality and scalability of our product design team. You will partner with cross-functional members of our product teams such as design managers, product managers, product designers, engineers, and business leaders. You will help enable the design team to focus their time on designing and shipping great products as well as ensure design has a high bar for quality. You will also manage the process, tooling and prioritization to align the delivery of high-quality design work to the most important product areas.
 

What You’ll Be Doing

Operational Efficiency
  • Develop, implement, and maintain efficient design processes, frameworks, and best practices to streamline design activities.
  • Oversee the end-to-end design workflow, from concept to final delivery, ensuring alignment across multiple teams and projects.
  • Establish project timelines and tasks and manage large projects through all phases of implementation
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks, driving continuous improvement across the design team’s operations.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Act as a liaison between design, product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Organize and facilitate design reviews, critique sessions, and workshops to promote alignment and feedback.
Resource Management
  • Manage design resources, including project planning, scheduling, and allocation of team members based on project needs and priorities.
  • Collaborate with design leads to assess capacity and skill requirements, providing recommendations for recruitment and development.
Tooling & Infrastructure
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage design tools and platforms to optimize productivity (e.g., design systems, project management software, collaboration tools).
  • Ensure design systems and libraries are consistently updated, accessible, and aligned with brand guidelines.
Scaling & Culture
  • Develop onboarding processes and training programs to ensure new team members can quickly integrate and contribute.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, creativity, and continuous learning within the design team.
  • Implement strategies to elevate the visibility of the design team’s work across the organization.
  • Drive required changes to make sure designers are working at optimum efficiency
Metrics & Reporting
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of design operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for stakeholders to showcase the design team’s impact, progress, and future roadmap.

 

What We Look For In You

Bachelor's degree in Management or equivalent experience
 
Experience:
8+ years in design operations, project management, or a similar role within a company of equivalent scale to OKX, ideally within a product design or UX team.
 
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of design thinking, user-centered design principles, and agile methodologies.
 
Tools:
Proficient in design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, Asana, Jira, Trello or similar platforms.

Skills:
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of bridging the gap between design and non-design teams.
  • Excellent risk control, and project reporting abilities
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and improve processes. Understanding of qualitative and quantitative research best practices
Leadership:
Experience in team management, mentoring, or coaching designers is a plus.
 
 

Nice to Haves

Bilingual in English and Chinese as this role requires you to liaise with Chinese speaking stakeholders
