Design Engineer in Upper Stages Design & Layout [24063]

At ArianeGroup, the Upper Modules Design & Layout department, is responsible for the design & layout of fully integrated propulsion modules of civil launcher systems, including its corresponding subsystems and products. The activities encompass amongst others the conceptual design, the preliminary and detailed 3D design, the preparation of the manufacturing and integration documentation, the treatment of design changes as well as the support of manufacturing and integration activities.

As Design Engineer in Upper Modules Design & Layout department, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • General and detailed 3D design activities taking into account: Design and manufacturing requirements and processes. Functional requirements (e.g. segregation rules for the electrical system, pressure, temperature, max. pressure drop) Mechanical requirements (frequency and stress) Integration sequence and accessibility;
  • Establishment and update of 3D models and assemblies in Catia V5 / Teamcenter;
  • Elaboration and update of 2D documentation, ready for manufacturing;
  • Elaboration of bills of material and release of associated data packages in link with SAP;
  • Implementation and documentation of changes acc. to configuration management process;
  • Evaluation and processing of non-conformances with design impact.

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering or similar field;
  • A first experience as Design Engineer with good knowledge of design and development processes, considering manufacturing and industrialization needs;
  • Preferably a first experience in 3D annotations for implementation of PMI (product manufacturing information);
  • Experience working with Catia V5 and MS-Office;
  • Experience working with PLM-T, in particular TeamCenter and SAP, would be an advantage;
  • Good communication skills to ensure the flow of information;
  • Ability to integrate quickly and work well in a team;
  • High degree of responsibility, ability to work under pressure and organisational skills;
  • Fluency in English and advanced knowledge of German is required; knowledge of French would be an advantage.
