As part of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for developing frames and components from concept to mass production using 3D modeling and simulation software. In this role, you will use knowledge of mechanical engineering to determine the ideal design, material, and manufacturing processes. You will have the opportunity to work closely with suppliers to bring tested products to market on time, in budget, while meeting the product specification brief. Help us create the perfect ride.

Note: This is not a remote position. This role is based in our North American HQ in Wilton, CT. 

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Drive projects from concept through production with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Industrial Design, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, and suppliers—to achieve time, quality, and budget goals.
  • Design innovative bike technologies, frames, and components using 3D modeling software with a focus on creativity and quality.
  • Employ the use of lightweight alloy, plastic, and composite materials and processes in bicycle design.
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings with appropriate inspection dimensions and GD&T.
  • Determine the ideal manufacturing process to meet quality standards, price targets and timelines.
  • Work directly with suppliers for product design and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with internal testing protocols, clearance models, and international standards.
  • Develop and carry out qualification test plans; evaluate results and adjust designs as needed.
  • Use computational analysis tools (FEA) to refine designs for testing success while pushing the limits of lightweight performance.
  • Conduct research and develop creative proof-of-concepts and prototypes to explore new ideas.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices and help shape evolving standards and processes.
  • Refine frame geometries to ensure proper ride handling and rider fit.
  • Stay current with battery and ebike drivetrain technology.
  • Evaluate and tune ride performance by field testing and data acquisition.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
  • 4-6 years of experience engineering consumer product.
  • Experience with tube forming processes, forging, gravity casting, plastic injection molding.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude to solve complex packaging, assembly, and mechanism problems.
  • Passionate cyclist and knowledge of bicycle products and their assembly is a plus.
  • Fluency in 2D and 3D design software with strong surfacing ability; experience with SolidWorks and PDM software is preferred.
  • Finite Element Analysis skills to analyze Aluminum structures and assemblies.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle for transport of employees and equipment to off-site locations.
  • No travel restrictions with the ability to travel internationally.
