The DRE is responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and release of the fuel door system. Other responsibilities will include development and validation of the system and communicating technical product status and competitor benchmarking to management. Individual will be responsible for coordinating the packaging with all adjacent departments (electromechanical, electrical, lighting, trim). Will be responsible for working with virtual validation groups to ensure that the functional objectives and requirements & scorecard is met as well as manufacturing feasibility. Will be responsible for maintaining and updating DVP&R, DFMEA.
Engineer needs to support meeting throughout NA work hours and work closely with local engineering teams, Architecture/Vehicle Concepts, program science teams & PDO with iterative models to align with all packaging, functional objectives and system requirements.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
One year engineering experience
Proficient in MS Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in setting and assessing customer (internal/external) level requirements, constructing component and full vehicle DVP&R
Experience with defining functional objectives and constructing DFMEA
Experience with NX, Teamcenter, and change management processes
Ability to construct work plans to resolve issues
Ability to lead teams, determine gaps to targets and develop solutions
Three years of product development experience
Experience with engineering plastic Class A components
Ability to reach consensus on complicated issues
Ability to resolve conflicting requirements across multiple organizations
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong computer software skills
