Job Summary:
The Deputy Project Manager for Dangote Cement Transport plays a critical role in supporting the Project Manager in overseeing and managing logistics and transportation operations for cement distribution. This individual will assist in ensuring efficiency, compliance, and proper execution of transport projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in the planning, coordinating, and execution of transport projects.
- Oversee transport operations and logistics, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Help manage relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and client representatives.
- Monitor project progression, identifying challenges and facilitating prompt resolutions.
- Coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, and document proceedings.
- Support quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Assist in budget management and financial oversight of transport projects.
- Prepare and present regular project reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 15 years' experience in project management or transportation management, preferably within the cement or construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing logistics and transport operations.
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to solve problems effectively.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
