Demolition Superintendent

About the Role We are immediately hiring an experienced Demolition Superintendent to support commercial building demolition projects in the Greater Vancouver area. Role Description Reporting to the Sr. Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to lead a small team which will complete demolition work on a wide range of projects. Day-to-day, you will have the responsibility of determining best practices in approaching different demolition jobs, and you will be relied on to come up with and carry out optimal demolition methods. Responsibilities • Work safely in construction sites and promote safety amongst crew • Ensure all safety standards are met and deadlines are reached while operating within safety guidelines • Lead operators and crews in daily meetings, keep crews updated and on track with schedules • Supervise daily work and provide training/guidance to team members as necessary • Coordinate work with Superintendents and Project Management teams to ensure each step of the project is being completed as desired • Review scope of work and project schedules and delivery on deadlines • Coordinate labour, subcontractors, and trades to complete tasks as required by the schedule • Support the Superintendent in scheduling manpower and equipment as necessary • Perform hands on tasks and lead a small team on the tools • Ensure all environmental regulations are adhered to throughout the construction process • Support development and training of crew members Skills and Requirements • Experience in building demolitions with understanding of structural demolition • Experience leading a small demolitions crew • Ability to communicate effectively between project management, site leadership, and subcontractors/trades • Desire to see projects through to completion • Strong understanding of construction and ability to be on the tools in a team lead capacity • Ability to read and understand drawings and blueprints, and communicate critical information to site teams • Desire to continue developing as a construction leader Final Thoughts We believe in diversity of thought and experience. Salary
CAD $40 – CAD $45 per hour
