Your Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for supervising the delivery of data-intensive projects for Customers from different industries. Most of them will be from Fortune 500 and Life Sciences companies. You will ensure collaboration is successful for the client (impact > effort), our team (high employee satisfaction score) and Appsilon (growing business and billability). 
  • Ensuring Customer satisfaction
  • -Understanding Customer goals they want to achieve with the project
    -Understanding how the Customer measures the ROI of the project
    -Providing Customers with the best service experience
  • Building a solid relationship with the Customer
  • -Person who knows the Customer’s business best
    -Understanding the organization's structure
    -Meeting regularly with client stakeholders to discuss their challenges
    -Understanding the big picture and dynamics on the Customer side
  • Guiding Customers during the project
  • - Advising on the release process
    - Advising how to achieve impact
    - Challenging Customer plans to find the optimal approach
    - Escalating risks promptly
  • Projects Continuity
  • - Ensuring that the Customer is successful thanks to our project and wants to continue working on it
    - Finding opportunities to grow the collaboration with the Customer
  • Direct Management
  • -Directly manage contributors & junior managers
    -Support careers, foster growth opportunities
    -Identify rising talents, address underperformance swiftly
  • If needed, you will take over the role of a Project/Product Manager who works hands-on in the project by managing the backlog, handling communication with the customer, clarifying requirements, and supporting software engineers.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role or at the top tier consultancy (BCG, Bain, AT Kerney, McKinsey)
  • Proven track record of successfully delivered projects
  • Project/product management experience (Product Owner, Project Leader, Project Manager, Project Coordinator roles)
  • Experience with client relationship management/sales
  • Understanding of modern web development process
  • Experience in mentoring other people (not necessarily software engineers)
  • You’re okay with traveling to clients (2-3 times per year)
  • Experienced in remote work, likes remote-first working culture
  • English C1 (close to native speaker)
  • Communication is your strong point. You like and know how to talk to people, but you also know how to listen effectively and remember information. You are characterized by openness, patience, emotional intelligence, and high personal culture. 
  • Proactive, driven personality, striving for continuous improvement of your performance
  • Your time zone makes working with European and American clients possible.

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of 1 project for Customers developed by teams of 2-3 engineers, or you will perform the role of a project manager in 1 project.
  • You will be learning the way we work by:
  • -Participating in the Talent Forge activities (workshops, training, talks)
    -Mentorship from Senior Delivery Managers
    -Mentorship from the Founders of Appsilon
  • Manage 3-4 individual contributors (team members or contractors)
  • You will be learning the way we support software engineers as managers by:
  • -Participating in the weekly manager's meetings to share ideas, challenges, and solutions

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of 1-3 projects for Customers (depending on their sizes)
  • Manage up to 10 individual contributors
  • Contribute to the internal initiatives that make our system work, for example:
  • -Performance reviews
    -Talent Forge
    -Onboarding App Sprints
    -etc
  • Still getting mentorship and growing - training through the Personal Development Budget, 1-1s with the Director of Delivery, Head of Engineering, and Senior Delivery Managers.
