ROLE DESCRIPTION: Data Control Program – Delivery Lead
The role offers an opportunity to advise and implement strategic data controls change programme with one of the leading financial institutions in the world across its key Business functions in Asia.
The objective of the project is to implement a new Data Controls policy, to mitigate data risks. The financial institution is in progress of reviewing its important Business Services and offerings to implement adequate data monitoring and controls for their most important data. We are looking for experienced Delivery Lead practitioner to:
- Manage the MI Status Reporting to senior stakeholders (COO, CEO, CDO, DATA OFFICES) regarding progress of implementing data control across Business Functions in Malaysia
- Act as an SME and go to person, responsible for resolving project management and operational implementation issues across data dictionary, data lineage and control documentation and analysis within each Business Functions in Malaysia
- Proactively own resolution of project management risks and issues
- Facilitate workshops with business process owners to design data controls, collection of functional data requirements in line with Bank’s Data Controls policy
- Work with project teams to understand and clarify gaps in business process documentation and data deliverables, such as data glossaries and data mapping artefacts across the Bank’s enterprise
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a delegate to CDO of Malaysia in matters of data control implementation projects
- Manage, track MI Status Reporting data control delivery to set timelines
- Ensure any blockers of the Data control implementation projects are mitigated in a timely manner
- Oversee Data Requirement’s Gathering and Sign Off activity for key business processes with subject matter experts, IT counterparts
- Assist Project leads and BAs to identify, document Business Process data controls, DQ controls and DQ rules
- Work with Project leads, BAs, IT, CDO, Data Offices with Data Cataloguing, Data lineage, Critical Data Element classification issues in Collibra for Business Functions business processes
- Document applications and systems used in processes using Business Analysis tooling:
- MS PowerPoint
- MS Visio
- MS Excel
- Work with IT, local Data Offices teams to assess technical application changes across Malaysia Data Offices Architecture landscape impacting business process activity and impact on data control documentation and changes to delivery timelines
- Work with Group Data Offices, local CDO teams on design and methodology iterations and data requirements gathering changes and impact on delivery timelines
- Help resolve data attribute tagging to business data glossary queries with IT, Data Offices
- Oversee BA data quality issue logging in Bank’s DQIM solution and fixing issues within it
Key Accountabilities
- Set up and Manage data controls project delivery plan across GBFs, raising and resolving issues promptly.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Capital Markets in Asia
- Produce high-quality deliverables based on:
- Detailed Requirements & Analysis
- Interview-style workshops
The preferred candidate will:
- Be a self-motivator working in a team of Capco and client colleagues
- Be good at problem solving
- Be comfortable working closely with stakeholders (both technical and non-technical) to perceive new and better ways of working
- Be adaptable and able to work across multiple Business Functions in parallel under pressure to tight deadlines
MANDATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience working within Financial Services and Banking as a Delivery Lead
- Knowledge and experience in at least two of the following disciplines:
- Business Process Design-redesign
- Data Controls Analysis
- Data Lineage Documentation
- Data Quality Issue Management
- Master & Metadata documentation
- Proven ability and track record in developing process flow diagrams/conducting business process mapping
- Good command of MS Office Suite
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- MS Visio
- MS Powerpoint
- Proven stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage with both technical and senior business stakeholders, the ability to run effective workshops
- Proven ability to produce structured functional documentation
- Excellent verbal and written Communication - the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences across business function and level and tailor messages appropriately in English
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven ability and track record in developing process flow diagrams/conducting process mapping
- Experience with Business Intelligence tooling

- Experience in BCBS239 and similar data-focused regulations will be considered to be an advantage
