The Decennial planning team serves as a dynamic bridge between the Marketing and People functions, uniting diverse perspectives to craft a celebration that resonates across the entire ALU community. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Decennial Program Manager is a pivotal role in ALU’s Decennial Celebration year. The role is responsible for leading the planning and execution of our ten-year anniversary celebrations. You will be the driving force behind a series of impactful events and initiatives that will amplify our brand, strengthen our academic credibility, attract top talent, boost investor confidence, and deepen community engagement. This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to ALU's legacy and shape its next decade of growth.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive decennial program strategy aligned with ALU's mission and vision.
- Event Management: Lead the planning and execution of a series of impactful events, including conferences, galas, alumni gatherings, and community outreach initiatives.
- Employee Branding & Campaigns: Develop and execute initiatives to leverage employee experiences and stories to enhance ALU's brand reputation and attract top talent.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Leverage and connect with existing internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, alumni, partners, and the broader community to reach critical business objectives and targets for increased partnerships, funding, revenue, student recruitment and other key measures of the Decennial Program.
- Communication & Marketing: Develop and implement a robust communication and marketing strategy to amplify the decennial program's impact and reach.
- Student Engagement: Develop strategies to actively involve current students in the decennial events and celebrations, fostering a sense of belonging and pride
- Budget Management: Oversee the program budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.
- Team Leadership: Influence and motivate a cross-functional Decennial Committee, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Brand/Marketing Material: Oversee the creation and distribution of high quality branding and marketing materials related to the decennial events.
- Service Provider Management: Identify, lead and monitor performance and delivery of key service providers to enable various events and touchpoints in the Decennial strategy.
- Cultural Integration: Create a lasting impact and shared organisational experience by embedding Decennial events into employee culture, gatherings, as well as student and alumni celebrations
Ensure the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults with whom we deal, by adhering to ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any violations of safeguarding standards.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, Project Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, event planning, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events or programs.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at various levels within an organisation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong project management and organisational skills (Proficiency in using Google Drive and other technology tools like event planning software, project management platforms, audiovisual equipment, marketing & communication tools, etc).
