ABOUT THE TEAM

The Decennial planning team serves as a dynamic bridge between the Marketing and People functions, uniting diverse perspectives to craft a celebration that resonates across the entire ALU community. We are passionate about showcasing ALU’s extraordinary journey, fostering meaningful relationships, and amplifying our brand. We do not simply plan events, but collaboratively and creatively weave a tapestry of shared pride and purpose honouring our legacy and propelling us into our next decade of transformative impact.  

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Decennial Program Associate is a vital role at ALU, providing essential support to the Decennial Program Manager in the planning and execution of our ten-year anniversary celebrations. You will play a key part in coordinating various aspects of the program, ensuring its smooth operation and successful outcomes.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program Coordination: Assist the Decennial Program Manager in coordinating various program components, including event logistics, communication efforts, and stakeholder engagement Initiatives.
  • Event Support: Provide on-the-ground support during elents, ensuring seamless execution and attendee satisfaction.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining program documentation.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Assist in communicating with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and responding to inquiries.
  • Data Collection: Collect and consolidate program data, to inform requirements of Decennial Program Manager.
  • Logistics & Procurement: Coordinate logistics and procurement needs for events and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.

Ensure the safety and well-being of all young persons and vulnerable adults with whom we deal,  by adhering to ALU’s comprehensive safeguarding policy, maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any violations of safeguarding standards.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in event coordination, administrative support, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • 
Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Commitment to delivering quality through building consistency and reliability in service delivery.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using Google Drive and knowledge of other technology tools (Event planning software, project management platforms, audiovisual equipment, marketing & communication tools, etc).
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
