DBA Database Administrator

Join our team as a Database Administrator! In this role, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing database efficiency and performance. Your responsibilities will include providing expert recommendations for optimization, analyzing DBMS performance, fine-tuning SQL queries, and ensuring data integrity and compliance. Responsibilities:

  • Provide recommendations for improvements or optimisations
  • Analysis of DBMS performance problems and issue recommendations to improve the efficiency of applications
  • Provide SQL development support and query tuning
  • Develop and proactively review the monitoring of production PostgreSQL databases
  • Maintaining data integrity by monitoring database activity to ensure that it meets regulations on security and compliance
  • Enforce architectural governance, database standards and best practices
  • Writes and reviews stored procedures and makes recommendations for optimization
  • Develop automation standards for repeated, routine database tasks
  • Manage database access.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience in PostgreSQL
  • Solid understanding of high availability (HA) solutions
  • Expertise in SQL development, database design, DML, and DDL
  • Understanding of query planning and optimization techniques
  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL tuning and optimization parameters
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL replication techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  • Experience with Amazon RDS, MySQL, TiDB, CockroachDB, or other distributed database systems is a plus
  • Experience with container runtime and management software like Docker, Kubernetes is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication skills.
