Barbaricum is seeking a senior-level IT and database professional to support the US Strategic Command (STRATCOM) J61 in the Command and Control Facility (C2F) at Offutt AFB, NE. This team will provide IT engineering expertise for enterprise systems in the C2F to ensure the Command's IT architecture and solutions will meet mission and enterprise capability requirements for Nuclear Command and Control, Cyber, Electromagnetic Spectrum Management, and Missile Defense. This Engineer will compute, store and backup data as an engineer with training and experience on new techniques and software defined approaches for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise, direction, and oversight for Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4), and Information Technology (IT) engineering programs that span USSTRATCOM's current and future mission sets.
- Recommend new technologies and develops strategies to meet USSTRATCOM's evolving capability requirements.
- Develop operational C4IT architectures and ensures solutions meet Presidential, DoD, and USSTRATCOM's mission requirements.
- Plan and execute duties as the designated Service Owner for 1) Architecture & Engineering, and 2) Cloud Integration.
- Conducts new technology market research, prepares business case analyses (BCAs) to advise leadership on new capabilities, and leverages national labs, industry, and academia best practices when developing C4, IT and NC3, architecture/engineering solutions, roadmaps, and support to other service owners and managers.
- Drive innovation through process improvement and developing/implementing/supporting potential and validated solutions in the following technology areas to meet future Presidential, DoD and USSTRATCOM requirements: C4, IT NC3, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), electromagnetic spectrum, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and DevSecOps.
- Provide technical oversight on systems engineering and related technical processes to include change control and configuration management.
Qualifications
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
- A minimum of 12 years' experience as an IT Subject Matter Expert with at least four years of documented experience with systems engineering and/or relevant technical systems engineering processes for USSTRATCOM. In lieu of experience, a Master’s degree in any engineering discipline or computer science can be substituted for six years of IT experience. A Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline or Computer Science can be substituted for four years of IT experience.
- Documented project management skills with a minimum of two years to monitor, manage, and assess progress of complex IT projects
- Training or experience relevant to designing, deploying, and maintaining systems and capabilities that comply with DOD cybersecurity policies and regulations, DoD Software Modernization Policies, and DoD DevSecOps architectures
- Maintain IAT Level II Certifications per DODI 8570.01-M (current CompTIA Security+ certification strongly desired)
- Possess a minimum of five years' experience in demonstrated written and oral communication skills including developing and presenting complex written products and oral briefings for and to senior leaders at O-6 and SES/GS-15 levels or higher
- A minimum of five years' experience of people skills and temperament to work in a calm professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other entities
