DREAM is seeking a solution-oriented individual to serve as a Database Associate. Reporting to the Director of Database Management, the Database Associate will work on the database and data pipeline management of systems across the organization. The Database Associate will play a key role in building our business intelligence tools to support the Network Support Team's business needs.
Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline and Dashboards
- Work with various databases in the organization, supporting system management such as user permissions, access control, and web services access required for pipeline management in Fivetran;
- Assist in pair coding and debugging of our data pipelines into our data warehouse in Bigquery including pipeline troubleshooting (FundEZ, Dayforce, Lever, Salesforce, etc.) and SQL coding in BigQuery;
- Support in building dashboards (including Organizational Excellence Dashboards and Team Dashboards for Advancement, Finance, IT, Talent, and HR, among others) and recommending insights for different stakeholders across the Network teams;
- Maintain and integrate organizational data;
- Create new business tools with multiple sources of data based on the user and business needs.
- Database Management
- Support with database solutions as needed across different database systems, including but not limited to Salesforce, Dayforce, and Coupa;
- Assist the Director of Database Management with upgrading and maintaining the configuration of multiple databases;
- Assist in change requests, as well as test and analyze the implications of those requests.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, required; Bachelor’s degree, preferred;
- One year of experience in database management, required;
- Strong database management skills and experience with the data pipelining (Extract , Transform, and Load) process, strongly preferred;
- Experience with SQL (preferably and Python), strongly preferred;
- Demonstrate interest in and passion for databases and data;
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
- Ability to work on multiple requests from different stakeholders while maintaining a high degree of customer service and execution.
Working Expectations
- Roughly 20 hours per week
- 3 days of work a week
- In person work required 2 out of 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday); remote possible 1 out of 3 days
- This role requires on-site work at both our East Harlem and Mott Haven Campuses
Compensation
- DREAM offers competitive compensation. The rate for this position is between $28 and $30 per hour.
