The Role

AXS actively seeking our next Database Administrator/Developer to provide quality, scalable data solutions for AXS products. The candidate will be expected to collaborate to design and then develop, implement, and optimize critical databases, processes and reports to achieve business goals and support the development and data platform teams.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Develop T-SQL/PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, SQL statements in Oracle & SQL Server environments. 
  • Design stable, reliable and effective databases. 
  • Build databases depicting the physical design. 
  • Create Tables, Views, Indexes and Sequences. 
  • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices. 
  • Prepare development estimates and design documents. 
  • Respond within an on-call rotation schedule

Skills and experience we’re seeking…

  • Significant experience in a database administrator or database engineering role within a commercial environment, or equivalent. 
  • Proven development experience in T-SQL and PL/SQL Programming in Oracle19c/21c in a Linux/Windows environment. 
  • Database tuning experience, database integration design and implementation, and management of database projects.
  • Experience in Database Schema creation and management. 
  • In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring). 
  • Strong grasp of advanced SQL writing and query tuning/optimization. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Full lifecycle experience (Requirements, Design, Development, and Implementation) in at least one Business Intelligence project preferred
  • Cloud services like Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure, highly desirable.
  • Willingness to participate as part of an on-call rotation schedule 

Pay range for this role:  £92,651.39 - £107,086.36 plus a 10% annual bonus eligibility
