Responsibilities
- Build models and modern algorithms to analyse diverse sources of data
- Use big data technologies to bring predictive models to our customers
- Deliver business-driving data science projects
- Develop tools and libraries for the broader analytics group
- Build self-service dashboards and automated reports to help teams make data-driven decisions
- Communicate results and findings derived from your analysis throughout the organisation in a meaningful way
- Collaborate with other areas of the business on long-term projects
- Implement and share new methodologies
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or other related discipline
- 3+ years relevant professional experience or postgraduate qualification (Master's/Ph.D.)
- Proficient in both SQL and Python
- Experience building ML models for applications including recommendation systems, segmentation and forecasting
- Experience with one or more cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure)
- Experience with one or more BI tools (i.e. Looker, Power BI, Tableau)
- Eager to use data for insights and has a demonstrated passion for applying data science to make business important decisions and recommendation
- Hypothesis driven – uses data to test ideas rigorously and objectively
- Ability to lead initiatives and work autonomously with little guidance
- Fluent in English
Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- High level of comfort with ambiguity, can drive progress through an agile test & learn mindset.
- Knowledge of digital and app analytics, or able to upskill in these domains quickly.
- Exceptional judgment and decision-making skills, able to prioritize the critical few things to achieve real impact.
- Strong SQL competence is required, together with a demonstrated ability to manage large, complex and possibly incomplete or sparsely documented data sets.
- Confident understanding of different database systems and their capabilities. Able to contribute to technical discussions with engineers on database capabilities and design, and optimize queries.
- Models compelling and effective insights communication. Rather than just seeing numbers, you see the overall story and can share that insight with stakeholders from different levels of seniority and domains.
- Strong communication skills that enable you to collaborate across multiple functions and teams. Able to build rapport, identify needs, deliver proposals, and constructively challenge our thinking.
