Data Scientist (Optimization)

Simulmedia is looking for an experienced and dynamic Data Scientist with a curious and creative mindset to join our data analytics team. As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with other Scientists, Product Managers and Engineers to deliver best in class scientific models and algorithms deployed at scale. You will be part of a team building Simulmedia’s cross-channel TV product, and enabling the company to continue its growth in an exciting and dynamic market. You will spend lots of time doing exploratory data analysis, as well as collaborating with teammates to deliver top-notch forecasting models and optimization algorithms.
 
This position is located in Lviv, Ukraine. The core team is located in Lviv and primarily works remotely with occasional team meetings in the office.
 
 
Responsibilities:
●      Construct models for cross-channel viewership measurement that inform the prediction and optimization of media campaigns
●      Design, build and fine-tune machine learning models for prediction (e.g., of impression capacity, of future media consumption, etc.)
●      Perform exploratory data analysis leveraging all data sources related to our cross-channel offering (demand side and supply side)
●      Work with the Engineering team in the expansion and continual enhancement of our cross-channel TV data platform
●      Keep apace with the latest on digital advertising research and practices
●      Must be able to communicate with U.S based teams
 
Qualifications:
●      BA/BS in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Quantitative Social Sciences, Bio Statistics, Statistics, or other technical fields with a strong focus on mathematical optimization.
●      Excellent understanding of mathematical optimization techniques including linear programming, mixed-integer programming, convex optimization, global optimization, heuristic methods, etc.
●      Excellent understanding of optimization model development process including problem formulation, constraint development, solver selection, parameter tuning, sensitivity analysis, etc.
●      Excellent knowledge of the Python data science stack with an emphasis on optimization libraries (e.g., PuLP, Pyomo) for model building, and experience in building production-ready optimization solutions.
●      Working knowledge of SQL for data querying and manipulation, and familiarity with optimization tools such as CPLEX, Gurobi, or open-source solvers.
●      2+ years of experience using mathematical optimization to solve real-world problems in industries like logistics, manufacturing, finance, or similar fields.
●      Agility and eagerness to learn - excited about learning new domains/approaches.
●      Ability to communicate complex optimization findings and blockers clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
