How you will contribute to Skroutz vision
As a Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of applying advanced ML techniques to solve complex business problems. By joining our Core-ML engineering team, you would:
- Employ different data science techniques to solve core problems like providing accurate product recommendations to our users, improving personalized search results, and classifying millions of products into thousands of Skroutz taxonomy categories.
- Contribute to establishing a strong data culture within the team.
- Help identify business problems and opportunities and propose data science methods to address them.
- Work with engineering teams and business stakeholders to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
- Build prototypes, evaluate results, and assist the team in deploying models to production.
- Implement and test end-to-end ML pipelines.
- Evaluate and improve existing algorithms.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related field
- 3+ years of post-academic machine learning or data science experience
- Good programming skills in Python, with experience in ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and deep learning techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL and databases
- Good data storytelling skills and the ability to articulate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Good communication skills and team spirit
We will appreciate if you have
- Experience with applied ML in an e-commerce context.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: information retrieval, recommender systems, natural language processing, or computer vision
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker)
- Contributions to open-source ML projects
