Data Science Engineer

Job Description:

Two Six Technologies seeks an experienced Data Science Engineer to help tackle our customers complex intelligence challenges. This role requires technical expertise to derive insights from substantial datasets, basic coding principles for data parsing an organization, and familiarity with typical data storage and retrieval systems such as OpenSearch.

The Data Scientist develops and optimizes initial methods to process and analyze large datasets and provide insights and value on that data. They are able to quickly understand new data needs and sources and be able to use that understanding to support users' analytic needs. The Data Scientist analyzes needs, creates requirements to be passed on to the development team, generates prototypes of analytic capabilities, and reviews/substantiates results with developers and users.

Work includes the ability to support the design for the data ingest and processing pipelines, data indexes, data stores, information retrieval services, and analytics. Ideally the Data Scientist possesses basic/intermediate scripting and ElasticSearch/Kibana experience.

Day In & Day Out Duties:

  • Assist with the design of data storage/retrieval architecture based on customer data requirements and industry best practices
  • Employ analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming, and scientific methods to develop qualitative and quantitative techniques for analyzing and assessing large, diverse datasets.
  • Develop strategies to extract insights and value from large datasets.
  • Provide recommendations on how best to support ongoing maintenance and enhancements of data systems and platforms
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement

Keys for Success:

  • 4+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Math, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field; or
  • 3+ years relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; or
  • 2+ years relevant experience with a Doctoral degree in a related field; or
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with an Associate's degree, for candidates with substantial experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Security Clearance:

Active TS/SCI Clearance Required
