👉 We are looking for a Data Science Director to lead the Data Science teams at Teads in order to bring the company to the next level and join a team of passionate engineers who build premium solutions at scale. Every day we tackle ambiguous and stimulating challenges. We build and operate large scale distributed machine learning systems to compute almost 50 million predictions per second during real-time auctions.
This role at Teads is a manager of managers plus ICs, reporting to a VP. They will be a thought-leader for Science innovation at Teads, from AI models which directly impact production to investing in long-term research at the forefront of AI. They are responsible for growing their team culture, ensuring sound Science/Engineering decisions, working closely with Product and other engineering teams, and above all building a culture of excellence.

What will you do?
As a Science Director for our Data Science Teams, your missions will be to:
- Drive the long-term AI vision for Teads, including new approaches and models to Machine Learning and leveraging GenAI.
- Build, manage, mentor and support teams of data scientists and machine learning engineers in a fast-paced, impact focused environment. We operate in a lean and experienced organization of 15+ contributors with plans to grow and structure the teams.
- Drive prioritization and be accountable for the execution of the Data Science strategy to improve KPIs and launch net-new offerings.
- Collaborate with a variety of teams to develop data science solutions from design to production.
- Stay abreast of academic and industry research, to help Teads remain at the forefront for applied science.
- Ensure company business objectives are well understood and implemented.
- Set up your teams for growth in a self-sustainable manner through effective processes.
- Define and communicate the strategy and vision to the teams and the whole company.
- Regularly interacts with senior management in and outside innovation on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
- Influences technical decision making to maintain a healthy and coherent tech stack.
- Operates at both a tactical and a strategic level.
- Generates solutions and innovative ideas to complex people problems.
- Executes leadership with little direction from VP.
What will you bring to the team?
- Proven experience as a technical leader managing Scientists, Engineers, and other technical managers.
- A background that combines academic research and the application of Science to real-world at-scale business problems, including Statistics, Neural Networks (Deep Learning) and GenAI.
- Prior experience in performance based advertising or in connected TV is a big plus.
- Innovative thinking, collaboration skills, and comfortable solving ambiguous problems.
- Ability to manage technical teams, providing regular feedback, mentorship or coaching. Experiencing nurturing and growing top talent.
- Team-oriented management style with the ability to recruit and develop technical talent and to inspire and motivate multiple engineering teams to work together as a cohesive and highly productive unit.
- Sound experience with designing, developing and extending large and complex systems.
- Pride in initiative, leadership and collaboration.
- You embrace change and are enthusiast to learn in order to bring projects to proper completion.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills in English for multiple audiences (Engineering, Product, Stakeholders, ...).

The Data Science Teams are responsible for building solutions to help the business and the engineering teams:
- Build tools to empower data scientists (eg; provide a framework to run offline and online tests to facilitate data driven decisions).
- Use Machine Learning to predict the outcome of displaying an ad to optimize our bidding strategy (eg. CTR prediction), or to control the infrastructure cost.
- Use unsupervised Machine Learning algorithms to create user clusters based on their browsing history.
- Create predictive audiences to target users and extend our reach.
- Provide algorithms to optimize in real-time creative rendering adapted to the context.
- Maintain and improve more than 50 prediction models, each one learning millions of weights.
- Investigate the latest Machine Learning technologies to make sure we always use the best-in-class algorithms.
