Data Quality Support Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Data Quality Assurance:
    • Perform routine data audits, validations and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
      • Identify data inconsistencies, errors or gaps and work with relevant teams to resolve them.
    • Develop and implement data quality control standards, policies and procedures.
    • Discover, analyze, and scope data requests from internal business users.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Create high-level process models (system interface diagrams, workflow & swim lane diagrams, data flow diagrams) to represent processes for the area under analysis.
    • Empower the business by creating value through the increased adoption of data standards, industry best practices and business intelligence.
    • Analyze data workflows and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
    • Support the development of dashboards and reports to monitor data quality metrics. 
  • Stakeholder Support:
    • Serve as the primary liaison for the State of Nevada’s internal stakeholders focused on statewide data, providing expert level support for data related inquiries and issues.
    • Partner with the State Highway Office, DPS Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and Nevada Department of Public Safety (NDOT) to understand the data requirements and goals for State and local agencies.
    • Partner with Traffic Records and the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) to ensure OTS is providing accurate, current and beneficial, traffic records data that will benefit stakeholders and policy makers.
    • Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
    • Offer training and guidance on data governance, quality and best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data quality processes, issues and resolutions.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on data quality status and improvements to stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, economics, or related field.
  • 4 or more years of experience with data analysis & data profiling in project, business requirements definition.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (eg SQL, Excel, Power Bi, Tableau)
  • Proficiency in collaborative tools (eg Sharepoint, TEAMS)
  • Experience working with large datasets and data management systems.
  • Familiarity with state government operations or public sector data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Must be located anywhere in the state of Nevada or College Station, TX
