Leading the data quality control effort and enhancing quality assurance throughout the software development life cycle. Provide data governance, data quality leadership and guidance to the team. This role is an advocate and driver of Product build quality and measurements in the Development team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business owners and data engineers to understand metadata about systems, processes, reports, controls, data movement, and business terminology.
  • Contribute to agile story refinement/defining requirements.
  • Analyze data for compliance to design specification (source-to-target) and expected/anticipated behaviors, identifying quality issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data issues and recommend data quality controls to resolve gaps/issues.
  • Actively communicate to stakeholders quality issues about the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used.
  • Perform audits, as required, to ensure quality processes exist and are being adhered to.
  • Communicate the pervasiveness of data quality problems and their potential impacts and take the lead in resolving them via data integration and/or business process improvement.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and document data issues.
  • Assist other teams in the design of quality checks, to ensure data quality objectives are met, as well as participate in cross-functional teams and development/improvement task forces.
  • Build, update and maintain dashboards that report on key business and data quality metrics.

Tasks:

  • Create, maintain and execute tests targeting data completeness and integrity using sql/scripts.
  • Participate in all relevant sprint rituals. You will be the primary QA contact at the squad level.
  • Conduct regular sync ups with Development Lead, and Product Owners.
  • Maintain all test suites/relevant documentation for the Products.
  • Regularly provide metrics on quality for sprints and overall Product, and drive collaborated actions towards further quality improvements.
  • Provide reporting on defects/bugs found during sprint and measurements against metrics such as velocity/stories to the team and manager, and facilitate/drive sprint retro discussions on analyzing and improving sprint delivery quality.
  • Undertake any other reasonable task that may be asked of you by your supervisor or senior management.
  • Participate and drive the addressing and resolving of SUPIN issues and RCA exercises. 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in developing complex data quality audits using SQL, analyzing abstract data, and summarizing and presenting findings.
  • 3+ years in quality assurance role for software development.
  • Strong knowledge of data exploration & analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile development and CI/CD.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance testing methodology and processes.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing practice in an Agile environment.
  • Experience using bug tracking and test case management tools (JIRA, TestRail).
  • Experience using various automation tools to help streamline testing (Preference: Python) .
  • Proactive in analyzing and identifying areas to improve Product quality.
  • Able to ensure best quality practices, effective approach, and latest tools for quality assurance.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working on an agile product team.
  • Strong written and oral communicator.
