We are seeking a Data Process Analyst to join our team in engaging with customers in the Media and Entertainment industry to define and execute data processes that drive customer insights and client revenue growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong hands-on data engineering experience and will work with senior Data Process Consultants and Architects to drive end-to-end client use cases.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of data and automation-centric customer engagements. Working hands-on to identify, collect, analyze, maintain and document ‘as-is’ current state data workflows, you’ll also execute on client priority requests to build and visualize datasets spanning federated data across customer teams.
The technology stack that you’ll be working with includes, but is not limited to, AWS (S3, Athena, etc), Databricks, Snowflake, Looker, and more.
This is an on-site, full-time position based in our Philadelphia office. The annual base salary is $110,000 - $140,000. Candidates will be paid within this range based on their work experience and skills. Candidates are also eligible for our full list of benefits linked here.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary subject matter expert to identify, collect, analyze, maintain and document both “as-is” current state data and federated or consolidated data for use cases in scope.
- Perform validation work focused on accuracy and consistency of all data used in project execution.
- Demonstrate leadership as a consultant in collaboration across client teams in an execution role responsible for:
- Identification, validation, collection and documentation of data and data elements required by business requirements to execute priority customer use cases leveraging client-available tools and processes.
- Map and develop a deep understanding of data sets from multiple sources for each use case. Validate and reconcile differences in data element definition and consistency.
- Work across client functional teams to source data requirements, document ‘as-is’ state, and provide for client review with reconciliation to support use case execution. Isolate data discrepancies for escalation with the client team and sponsors.
- Provide for version management on all data sets used to support use case execution. Maintain controls on use case inputs and outputs with client review and approval.
- Use best practices for data source, collection and management with automation to drive project requirements and data process improvements.
- Utilize familiarity with data use for AI, data storage mediums (lakes, lake houses, etc) and federation across multiple sources to create recommendations for process transformation and prioritization of development roadmap.
- Utilize data visualization tools to review data sets for accuracy and quality in pre-production use cases.
- Ensure project execution focus on key customer deliverables spanning data set creation, efficiency delivery, data quality and accuracy, automation and user experience. Create and provide documentation for client review and approval.
- Participate in the creation and delivery of weekly status reporting and client presentation using client preferred templates and tools.
- Bachelors Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Equivalent with enterprise client experience
- 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or analytics, large data sets, data pipelining, lineage, data observability, data governance and related concepts.
- Prior consulting experience in large enterprise environments focused on data processing, engineering and automation.
- Proficiencies and experience with common tooling data analysis, pipelining and visualization.
- Hands-on automation expertise with an understanding of data flows, ETL, data modeling, streaming and other concepts.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with both client executives and individual contributors.
- Willingness to work full time in-office in the Philadelphia metro area.
- Ability to collaborate and mediate between differing viewpoints to gain common buy in on direction.
- Demonstrable ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-faced, innovative environment.
- Experience in AWS-based data architectures, including technologies such as step functions, Lambda, Managed Airflow, S3, Dynamo DB, DataSync, dbt, etc
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience in preparing data discovery findings and solution architectures, as well as the ability to navigate and present to stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with the software development life cycle best practices
- Experience w/digital media products, media and advertising industry targeting
- Experience with Databricks and Snowflake
- Experience with BI tools such as Looker, PowerBI or Tableau
- Experience with functional languages such as Python, Go, etc
- A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to see the big picture, not just the piece you are working on
