The Role
Data Privacy Manager will report to the Director of Group Risk/DPO, and is part of the Group Risk and Assurance team. We are looking for a bright, analytical person, well versed in the world of privacy and risk management. The successful candidate will ideally have a qualification in privacy and will be an experienced privacy practitioner.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the DPO in providing the business with high-quality, timely and solution-led advice on all aspects of privacy and data protection compliance
- Manage the day-to-day operations of privacy matters including data incident management, DSAR requests, marketing opt-out requests etc.
- Design and implement efficient processes to manage data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and recommend controls to mitigate privacy risks
- Work closely with stakeholders to implement an effective and accountable data mapping exercise to give clear visibility of information flows in the organisation, including regular review
- Design and implement efficient processes to manage the reporting of incidents and breaches including their review and escalation, and ensuring data protection compliance
- Design and implement data protection training across Smart
- Production and review of Smart’s privacy policies
- Work closely with Procurement and Cyber Security to mitigate privacy-related risks in the supply chain
- Provide assurance to audit (internal and external) that demonstrates compliance with data protection laws, including such as SOC2 and ISO 27001
- Provide reports tailored to different audiences, e.g. senior management, Committees, the Smart Board, regarding data protection practice of Smart
- Provide SME support and guidance to the wider business on data protection compliance
Requirements
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
- 7+ years of work experience in the practice of relevant privacy and data protection
- Experience running multiple, high-priority projects and advancing complex projects
- Experience using and configuring a privacy platform e.g. OneTrust
- Knowledge and experience of industry frameworks such as IS0 27001 desirable
- Excellent time management, planning, process design and execution skills
