CMOstores.com ltd are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Platform Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data platform architecture, ensuring efficient and secure data management across our organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Platform Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain a robust and scalable data platform architecture that meets our current and future business needs.
- Database Management: Manage and optimise various database systems, with a focus on SQL and MySQL. Ensure high performance, availability, and security of our data storage solutions.
- Cloud Data Solutions: Implement and maintain cloud-based data solutions, primarily using Microsoft Azure. Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.
- ETL Process Management: Develop, optimise, and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and other relevant tools.
- Data Integrity and Security: Implement and maintain data integrity checks and security measures across all data systems. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Data Integration: Integrate various data sources, including financial systems such as Sage, to create a unified data ecosystem.
- Database Administration: Perform regular database administration tasks, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and user access management.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to ensure efficient data delivery for reporting and analytics purposes.
- API Development and Management: Design, develop, and maintain APIs for data ingestion and distribution. Ensure API performance, security, and documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of database systems, particularly SQL and MySQL
- Expertise in cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure
- Experience with ETL tools and processes, particularly SSIS
- Proficiency in API development and management
- Familiarity with financial data systems (e.g., Sage) is a plus
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance requirements
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or similar in a relevant field
- Certifications in Azure, SQL, or other relevant technologies
- Experience with data modelling and data warehouse design
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools and practices
