Data I/O Lead Operator Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and monitor all incoming and outgoing data transfers across platforms.
- Perform SAN clean-up, archiving, and data lifecycle maintenance to optimize storage usage.
- Ensure security protocols are followed rigorously across all workflows and systems.
- Guarantee 100% accuracy in data deliveries by verifying file integrity, metadata, and specifications.
- Utilize tools such as Aspera, Signiant, and others for efficient and secure file transfers.
- Interpret and generate XML schema, metadata templates, and delivery manifests as needed.
- Handle a wide variety of audio and video file types and understand their technical specifications.
- Learn and retain an extensive range of workflows, client specs, and delivery procedures.
- Maintain highly accurate data entry, tracking, and record keeping.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in coordination with Project Managers under tight deadlines.
- Troubleshoot technical or workflow-related issues and offer timely solutions.
In addition, the Lead Operator will:
- Oversee day-to-day activities of the Data I/O team to ensure operational coverage and efficiency.
- Delegate tasks and monitor team workload to keep all projects on schedule.
- Train and mentor new and existing team members on workflows, tools, and best practices.
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and coordinate with cross-functional departments.
- Help develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistency and scalability.
- Identify inefficiencies or workflow bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve throughput.
- Coordinate with engineering and IT to resolve infrastructure or system-related issues.
- Track performance metrics and provide feedback to management on team progress and needs.
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Working knowledge of media formats such as LTO, hard drives, ProRes, H.264, IMF, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work across departments and with clients.
- Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Natural leadership qualities with the ability to guide and support team members.
- A self-starter attitude and comfort working with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem resolution and critical thinking skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly evolving workflows and technologies.
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of Data I/O or media operations experience; at least one year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Salary Range: $24 - $30 USD Per Hour
