As a Data Engineer, you will be part of world-class team of Engineers to define, drive and execute on this vision. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with software engineering skills and expertise with Java, Web technologies & Big data. The candidate will be extensively involved in hands-on activities including POCs, design, development, testing, and documentation. Candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on team's needs.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• 1 to 2 years of software development work experience along with a Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years of work experience with an Advanced Degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design optimized for building highly distributed and parallelized systems.
• Proficiency in Java and Scala with strong design and coding skills.
• Hands-on experience with web technologies including Spring Boot, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, JQuery, and REST API.
• Practical knowledge of Angular.
• Working experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks.
• Experience with Apache Spark is plus.
• Familiarity with Git/Stash, Ant, Maven, Jenkins, and Jira.
• Experience with database technologies like DB2, Oracle, SQL Server.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Agile & DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong automation mindset.
• Capability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate logic and implementation plans to team members and managers.
• Self-starter, quick learner, and detailed and thorough.
• Experience in payment processing is a big plus.
