Role Overview

At QUALCO, we empower the financial world with innovative technology. As a Data Engineer Team Leader, you will be part of our MIS & Reporting team in Athens and you'll play a crucial part in designing, optimizing and maintaining the department’s current and future data related solutions. You will collaborate with Data Engineers and be responsible for data integrity, consistency and reusability within all areas of analytics, by adopting a product-oriented approach to the creation of analytics deliverables.

A Day in the Life of a Data Engineer Team Leader at Qualco will include:

• Leading and managing a group of data engineers on new and existing data related initiatives and ensuring optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects;
• Designing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and optimizing current and future data/reporting/analytics platforms/solutions in order to address data related needs;
• Working closely with Data Analyst team in order to successfully deliver end-to-end data projects;
• Understanding and promoting data framework best practices and key technologies so as to effectively support existing and future business requirements;
• Integrating, transforming, and consolidating data from various structured and unstructured data systems in order to make them available for reporting/analytics solutions;
• Setting up and maintaining automated processes according to the business requirements i.e. invoicing process; and
• Identifying areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes.
• Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the continued implementation of the Group Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related subject;
• 5+ years of experience in ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, Data Warehouse Architecture and Reporting tools;
• Knowledge of Data Governance;
• Strong knowledge of writing queries, stored procedures, views, functions and triggers for Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL);
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server Database Tuning and Query Optimization techniques;
• Experience with analysis, design, and development of large high-performance databases;
• Exceptional attention to quality, detail, and be comfortable working as part of an extended team on an agile delivery plan;
• Resourceful, creative, self-motivated and eager to learn; and
• English fluency and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

What is considered a plus:

• Experience with Azure Data platforms such as Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Databricks;
• Experience as Team Leader/Manager;
• Experience in working with multidimensional databases (e.g. MS Analysis Services);
• Work experience in credit or debt portfolio data management, analytics or reporting;
• Knowledge of Python and/or other OOP languages;
• Knowledge of R statistical language; and
• Familiarity with statistical tools and predictive modelling concepts.
