What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a Data Engineer with a strong focus on Data Quality and a proficiency in Data Visualizations and Microsoft Power BI to join our IM North America Technology & Transformation team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in developing, managing, and optimizing data systems, with a special emphasis on creating powerful data visualizations and utilizing Microsoft Power BI. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture and ETL processes, coupled with the ability to design and implement effective data visualizations that translate complex data insights into clear, impactful business intelligence.

Your expertise in Power BI will be instrumental in developing interactive reports and dashboards, enhancing our data-driven decision-making capabilities. Additionally, experience in ensuring data quality and integrity in these visualizations is crucial. The successful candidate will be adept at using Power BI to not only present data but also to aid in identifying trends, patterns, and insights that drive efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Further, we are looking for a candidate who thrives in a collaborative environment and possesses a deep understanding of IT systems and transformation strategies. Your ability to translate complex data into understandable ideas and relate these back to the business objectives is key. A background in managing and executing projects is also desirable, as is experience with machine learning and AI technologies, though not required, can be harnessed to automate and optimize our business processes.

Role Accountability and Duties:

Planning & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Foster innovation and efficiency in data practices during stakeholder planning sessions.
  • Collaborate across teams to set data quality goals and align them with business KPIs.
  • Communicate data quality results to stakeholders, aiding in strategy and decision-making.
  • Support in bridging the gap between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear understanding of data initiatives.

Reporting, Analytics, and Decision Support

  • Define data quality standards for new products and services, collaborating on reporting strategies.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to track data accuracy in key systems and processes, aiding in informed decision-making.
  • Utilize advanced data analysis to ensure high-quality data, supporting insights into user behavior and business operations.
  • Conduct strategic data quality assessments to drive technological improvements and identify innovative opportunities.

Operational Management

  • Assist in developing and maintaining tools and dashboards for data quality management, supporting various industry verticals and product innovation.
  • Establish a robust data quality management framework for new product development, ensuring high standards of data integrity.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends in data engineering and quality assurance, applying new methodologies to enhance project outcomes and sharing knowledge within the team.

What you bring to the team

  • 5+ years in business intelligence, data analytics, and/or enterprise data management principles
  • Comprehensive understanding of data engineering, QA principles, and EDM best practices.
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate complex data quality issues into understandable insights.
  • Research skills to investigate and resolve data quality challenges, enhancing business operations.
  • Solid background of data warehouse analysis and design experience, with strong understanding of data warehouse methodologies and data modeling.
  • Experience of testing multiple integrated data systems and strong SQL skills to carry out data validations.
  • Innovative approach, driving technological efficiency and improvement in data processes.
  • Highly self-motivated, meticulous, with a focus on precision in data handling and analysis.
  • Experience working with diverse teams, understanding cross-functional dynamics.
  • Desirable: Technical certifications in data tools (e.g., SQL, MS Power BI) and experience in data pipeline design and BI dashboard management.
